Image Credits

Every stitch, hat-wearing elephant, and yarn-strewn flat lay you see on Pin and Pine comes from somewhere, and we take that somewhere seriously. This page explains how we source our images, how we credit outside work, and what to do if you believe your photo or illustration appears here without proper permission.

Where Our Images Come From

Because our content covers crochet, amigurumi, rustic DIY, seasonal crafts, and home decor, most of what we publish involves original photography — our own finished projects, works in progress, craft room setups, and step-by-step process shots. Where we do not shoot our own images, we rely on a mix of the following sources:

• Licensed stock photography purchased or subscribed to through reputable stock libraries
• Royalty-free or public-domain images that are cleared for commercial use
• Images shared with us directly by makers, pattern designers, or readers who granted explicit permission
• Assets provided by brands or partners as part of a collaboration arrangement

We do not knowingly use copyrighted images without a license or clear permission. If an image on this site was sourced from a third party, we make a genuine effort to credit the original creator either in the image caption, the surrounding text, or in this page when a general attribution applies.

Third-Party Attribution

When a specific photo, illustration, or graphic requires named attribution under its license terms, we credit the photographer, designer, or platform as close to the image as possible. If you notice an image that should carry a visible credit but does not, please tell us — it is very likely an oversight rather than an intentional omission, and we will fix it quickly once notified.

Some images embedded from third-party platforms, including Pinterest pins linked from our posts, are governed separately by our Pinterest disclaimer, which explains how pinned content is displayed and credited.

Reuse and Permission Rules

Unless an image is explicitly marked as free to share or comes from a public-domain source, please assume our original photography is protected and not available for reuse without permission. If you would like to feature one of our images — for example, in a roundup post, a Pinterest board description, or an editorial piece — reach out first through our contact page and we will do our best to work something out, usually with a simple credit and link back to the original post.

We appreciate the same courtesy in return. If you are a designer or blogger and would rather we did not use an image you created, or you would like a different form of credit, we are glad to make that adjustment. See the next section for how to reach us.

How to Request Credit or a Takedown

We understand that craft and DIY content lives in a community built on sharing, remixing, and crediting each other's work fairly. If you believe:

• An image on this site belongs to you and lacks proper credit
• You would like your attribution wording changed or corrected
• An image should be removed entirely because it was used without permission

please email us at [email protected] with a link to the page in question, a link to or copy of the original image, and a short note describing what you would like us to do. We aim to respond within a few business days and to resolve legitimate requests promptly, whether that means adding a credit, correcting a link, or removing the image altogether.
